Republic of Ireland legend Damien Duff has taken Reading youngster Kian Leavy to Shelbourne on loan.
International centurion, with over 400 English league appearances to his name, Duff is in charge of the League of Ireland side.
Leavy, the Royals Under-23 regular, will join the side until the end of the season.
He made one appearance under Paul Ince this season, playing a part in the Carabao Cup exit to Stevenage.
Speaking on the move, former Chelsea and Fulham favourite said: “I am really excited to start working with Kian. He has tremendous ability, a big heart and can play many positions. I admire that he has left his comfort zone to come and test himself in a very tough league. He is another great addition to the squad.”
Speaking himself, Leavy told shelbourenfc.ie: “It’s a great opportunity for my development to come to Shelbourne and the way of playing will really suit my game. Speaking to Damien (Duff) and the staff it has been really exciting so I’m looking forward to the year ahead. From watching the club last season the talent in the squad is huge and I’m looking forward to joining up with the lads and bringing success to Shels this year”
