Former Reading winger Garath McCleary reached a milestone 500th professional career appearance in Wycombe Wanderers' 2-0 defeat to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
Making his name in non-league for Oxford City, Slough Town and Bromley, he got a move to League One Nottingham Forest in 2008, scoring 13 in 123 appearances for the Tricky Trees as they established themselves back in the Championship.
Brian McDermott signed the Jamaica international in 2012, ahead of the Royals' Premier League season.
Over the next eight years, 'Gmac' scored 27 in a whopping 270 appearances- famously scoring in the Royals' first FA Cup semi-final since 1927 and a whole host of worldies against the likes of Burnley and Queens Park Rangers.
Moving on at the end of his contract in 2020, Gareth Ainsworth revitalised his career at Adams Park in the second and third tiers.
The 35-year-old has scored five times this season and racked up a total of 107 appearances for the Chairboys.
As his popular song went: "He plays on the left, he plays on the right- Garath McCleary, makes Messi look *****."
