Reading are 'on the verge' of a six-point deduction, according to MailSport and the Telegraph.
The Royals have been under close watch from the EFL after breaching FFP regulations, including a six-point deduction last season and a transfer embargo.
Forced to obey a business plan set by the EFL, Sportsmail claim that Reading are "on the verge of being triggered amid claims the club have failed to cut their spending in accordance with a plan they agree with the EFL."
Said plan aimed to bring the club in line with it's profit and sustainability rules, including cutting expenditure.

The report goes on to claim that "it remains to be seen if the penalty will be handed down to Paul Ince's side this season. The disciplinary process is yet to begin."
Currently sat 13 points clear of relegation in the Championship, the deduction would take the club down to 19th in the division and just seven points clear of the drop zone.
The Royals finished 21st last season after suffering a six point deduction.
Neither the EFL or Reading Football Club have made comment.
