Reading fell to a third successive defeat as Millwall won 1-0 at the SCL Stadium.
Here are the player ratings.
Joe Lumley, 5: Gave away the decisive penalty after a poor mistake from Naby Sarr, but had little to do for the remainder of the game.
Andy Yiadom, 6: Started very bright and was a thorn in his opposite number's side, but faded as the Royals' attacking edge fell off. A solid enough display from the skipper, who left the pitch early and left the stadium wearing a protective boot.
Tom Holmes, 6: Improved as the game went on and started to dictate play in the closing stages as the Royals looked to pen the Lions in and forge out an opening.
Scott Dann, 6: Won his headers and his tackles well enough, looking quite comfortable. Now out with a hamstring injury.
Naby Sarr, 5: Made an early mistake for a costly penalty but recovered well and was rarely troubled for the rest of the afternoon.
Nesta Guinness-Walker, 5: A quiet game for the left wing-back, with much of the play coming down the opposite flank. Could have maybe dealt with Ziyan Flemming better before Lumley gave away the penalty.
Tom McIntyre, 6: Another holding midfield start on his 100th appearance. Was involved in giving the ball away for Millwall's goal, but won possession well. Definitely grew into the game.
Jeff Hendrick, 6: Kept the game ticking over and was much improved in the second half, but failed to truly impact the game.
Tom Ince, 6: Quiet game by Ince's standards. Ran around lots and took possession but end product and decision-making not fully there against Gary Rowett's side.
Shane Long, 5: Hard being a striker this season, with very little chances created and feeding off scraps. Ran around lots and won clever free-kicks, but had very little goal-mouth action.
Andy Carroll, 6: Was being fouled all afternoon but still won everything in the air and held the ball up very well. Need more teammates to gamble and pick up second balls.
Substitutions
Liam Moore, 6: Very composed performance for the former skipper. Swept up well and looked to start attacks.
Amadou Mbengue, 6: Very bright when he came on, adding directness and pace to the back line. z
Cesare Casadei, 6: Again, had a positive impact on the game. Always looked to play forward and had some clever passages of play.
Lucas Joao, 5: Similar to Long, had very little chance to impact the game. Should have done better with a floated cross into the arms of the keeper.
