Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens has become the latest favourite for the Reading managers job.
Former Royals defender and current Stoke City assistant coach, John O'Shea, has dropped from favourite to second-favourite, at 5/1 on BetVictor.
Wellens, the former Blackpool and Leicester City favourite, was awarded League Two Manager of the Season last month after leading the O's to the fourth tier title.
He did the same with Swindon Town in 2020, as well as winning the EFL Trophy with Salford City.
Only taking over in London in March 2022, the 43-year-old has won over 50 per cent of his matches in charge.
Current interim boss Noel Hunt remains third favourite at 6/1, before the likes of Karl Robinson, Graeme Murty and Lee Johnson sit on 12/1, 14/1 and 16/1 respectively.
Having taken charge of four matches, Hunt is yet to win and has picked up just three points.
Now out of their control, the Royals are relying on Sheffield United to beat Huddersfield Town on Thursday, which would take relegation to the final day in Yorkshire.
