Reading are set to miss out on Liverpool youngster Leighton Clarkson, according to reports.
The 21-year-old has spent the last season on loan with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, picking up five goals and eight assists at Pittodrie.
The Daily Record report that the England youth international has a 'broad agreement' in place with the Dons, but the Royals were keen on bringing him south of the border.
However, Darren Witcoop of Sunday Mirror has since reported that he will remain in Scotland.

A consistent target, Reading were rumoured to be interested in the midfielder during the January window.
Heading into the third tier for the first time in over 20 years, the club only have two registered midfielders on the books- Ovie Ejaria and Michael Craig.
Still without a managerial appointment, recruitment is being driven by summer additions Jared Dublin and Brian Carey.
