Reading are set to meet Fleetwood Town and Stevenage for the first time in the league after relegation to League One.
Both sides have spent their history bouncing between the fourth and third tiers, and are considerably younger than the Royals at 26 and 47 years old respectively.
Finishing second in League Two last season, Steve Evans' Boro have been regular opponents for Reading in cup competitions, meeting as recently as last season when they knocked out Paul Ince's men in the Carabao Cup.
Meeting five times since 2011, the Hertfordshire-based outfit have won twice and lost twice.
However, Fleetwood have never once played Reading in any competition and only earned promotion to the Football League in 2012.
This is in stark contrast to the likes of Portsmouth, Blackpool and Derby County- all of which have been regular opponents over the last century.
Supporters will have to wait less than a month now to find out when they play each teams, with fixture release day scheduled for Thursday, June 22.
