Reading favourite Yakou Meite is set to sign for Cardiff City, according to reports.
The 27-year-old played nearly 200 times for the Royals since his 2016 arrival from PSG, becoming a firm fan favourite for his infectious personality and knack of scoring important goals.
Suffering with two long-term injuries in recent seasons, the Ivorian has scored just four goals in the last two seasons.
Offered a new contract to remain in RG2, the forward rejected a deal now the club are in League One and opted to find a new club.
According to Glen Williams of WalesOnline, his arrival is due to be announced in the next 24 hours.
He will become the third summer signing of the season for the Bluebirds, who finished 21st last season and would have gone down were it not for Reading's six-point deduction.
Usually performing well against Cardiff, Meite has scored four goals in seven appearances against his future employers.
He joins fellow former Royal, Andy Rinomhota, in the Welsh capital after his move in the summer of 2022.
