Reading summer signing Charlie Savage has said that the club's Bearwood training ground is 'on par' with Manchester United's Trafford Training Session.
A multi-million pound investment from owner Dai Yongge, Bearwood has been home to the Royals' first team, academy and women's side since the build in 2019.
The envy of most of the country, many new signings make reference to the 'state of the art facilities' near Winnersh- and Savage is no different.
"The training ground- I heard it was good but I didn’t realise it was this good," the 20-year-old said. "It’s honestly amazing, on par with United at the minute."
The son of former Premier League regular Robbie Savage, the youngster was present at the Madejski Stadium in 2011 when the-then Derby County captain made his final professional appearance.
Stripping down to his jockstrap and throwing items of clothing into the crowd, Savage received a standing ovation from all four sides of the stadium.
“I remember my dad’s last game – where he took his shirt off. I was here for that, watching from the stands!

Making reference to the 2-1 win for Reading, Savage Jr remembers the supporters fondly.
