Reading are keen on signing West Brom goalkeeper David Button, according to reports in national media.

The 34-year-old has been with the Baggies since 2020 but has failed to impress and made just 31 appearances.

A youngster on the books with Tottenham Hotspur, Button had 13 loan spells away from White Hart Lane before finding a permanent home at the Valley with Charlton Athletic.

Going on to enjoy successful spells with Fulham and Brentford, he has played less than 50 games in the last five years.

According to the Daily Mail, Reading will sign Button once they have settled their financial issues and exit their transfer embargo.

The club are overdue with HMRC and are unable to register any players until it is paid.

This would be the fifth goalkeeper at the club, with Dean Bouzanis joined by young the trio of Coniah Boyce-Clarke, Jokull Andresson and Harvey Collins.
