Reading favourite Emma Harries has departed to make a Women's Super League return with West Ham.

A Royals academy graduate who broke through in 2020, the forward made over 50 appearances in almost three seasons with the first team and became a firm fan favourite.

Part of the exodus of players after relegation and subsequent move to a part-time model, the 21-year-old becomes the second signing for the Irons.

Reading Chronicle:

“It’s an amazing feeling to sign for West Ham United,” she told whufc.com. “West Ham is a huge Club and I think it’s the perfect next step for me in terms of developing as a player.

"I’m only 21 and this next step is going to be important for me, and West Ham are a Club that are pushing youth development, and that’s something that I was really excited by.

"The appointment of Rehanne [Skinner] was also something that helped with my decision-making. She is somebody that has worked in the younger age groups for England and I think she will be the perfect manager to play under. It’s going to hopefully be a really good season.

“I can’t wait to get out there with the girls and work hard to prepare for the new campaign and I’m excited to meet all of the West Ham United fans.”
