Reading have confirmed the departure of former England striker Andy Carroll.
The 34-year-old has not featured for almost a month, since a 1-0 defeat at Port Vale, and is set to join Ligue 2 club Amiens in France.
Originally joining in 2021, the Newcastle United and Liverpool forward became a fan favourite.
Returning in 2022, the Geordie signed a new deal midway through last season to keep him in Berkshire until next summer.
Upon relegation to the third tier, the forward 'work his f*****g a**e off' and to get 'this fantastic club back up and beyond.'
He leaves with 11 goals in 42 appearances and makes his first foray into foreign football in the second tier of French football.
The futures of Tom Holmes, Nesta Guinness-Walker and Dean Bouzanis remain unclear with none of them being involved past the second match of the season.
Just over 24 hours remain of the summer transfer window, closing at 11pm tomorrow.
