Reading conceded an 84th-minute goal to lose 1-0 at Cambridge United- extending the winless away run to 15 matches.

Take a look at the ratings below.

David Button, 7: Made a superb save within the opening minute to repel the hosts, and remained on his toes throughout. Could do nothing about the U's winner, signalling a decent evening all-round for the new keeper.

Amadou Mbengue, 6: As always seems the way with 'Cheeseburger', the defender was exciting and dangerous going forward, but left his centre-backs exposed throughout the time he was on the pitch.

Harlee Dean, 6: Picked up an early booking and was walking a tightrope. Should have given his side the lead in the second half, but thundered his header over the bar.

Nelson Abbey, 7: Commanding performance from the young captain, who was composed and hardly lost a dual. Growing into a star player this season.

Matt Carson, 5: Another difficult evening for the youngster. Exposed when supporting attacks and was targeted throughout.

Charlie Savage, 6: Passing neat and tidy but midfield was bypassed too often by the hosts. Got better as the game went on.

Sam Hutchinson, 5: Not his best performance of the season, looking slow and laborious with the ball. Flew into some heavy tackles and was booked for an extremely cynical foul.

Harvey Knibbs, 5: Below par for the former Cambridge midfielder. Busy in the first half was some neat passes, but was totally anonymous in the second half.

Ben Elliott, 6: An exciting evening for the youngster, who was at the centre of everything good for Reading in the first half. Faded as the game went on before his substitution.

Femi Azeez, 6: Quiet evening for the forward, who stood little chance of holding up long balls against Michael Morrison and Ryan Bennett. Looked to stretch the defence but rarely anyone in the box to get on the end of crosses.

Caylan Vickers, 6: Grew into the game and linked up well with the midfielders. Looked much more dangerous following the late introduction of Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan.

Substitutions

Andy Yiadom, 6: Solid but unspectactular. Had little impact on the flow of the game in either direction.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 6: Had one great chance to bend into the back of the net from the edge of the box, but was starved of chances apart from that.

Michael Craig, 6: Did not impact the game a great deal but kept possession tidily.

Clinton Mola, 5: Beaten too easily for Cambridge's cross leading up to the goal. Hard to work into the game on debut from the bench.
