Bracknell MP James Sunderland has been left 'appalled' at the latest points deduction news coming out of Reading Football Club.

The Royals have been hit with a three-point deduction, on top of a one-point deduction received last month, to take the club into the League One relegation zone.

Club owner Dai Yongge was required to move 125 per cent of the wage bill into a dedicated account after he had paid staff late on three occasions last season.

He failed to do so.

It is now 16 points taken off of the club in the six years of control under Yongge, seeing the club move from third in the second tier to third from bottom in the third tier.

Following yesterday's news, Mr Sunderland said: "I am appalled to read this tonight. I will be meeting representatives from SellBeforeWeDai later this week to discuss what can be done at Reading FC. Fans deserve so much better."

Sell Before We Dai are a fan action group, comprised of separate groups including the Supporters Trust at Reading and the Tilehurst End.

Their end goal is to see Yongge removed from power.

Protests were arranged for the opening home game of the season last month, and more are in the works for coming matches.
