Reading conceded in the first, and virtually the last, minutes of the game to lose 2-1 at home to relegation rivals Fleetwood Town.

David Button, 6: Was beaten from a distance within 60 seconds by a good strike, but made some good saves in the first half to keep the team in the game. Could do little with the late winner.

Tyler Bindon, 4: Constantly exposed but he should not be asked to play out of position. Was brutally exposed all evening.

Harlee Dean, 6: A strong first half from the defender, who at times was the most attacking player on the field despite being a defender. 

Nelson Abbey, 6: Dealt competently with everything thrown his way. Not as stand-out a performance as Saturday’s defeat to Charlton Athletic, but did not have a bad individual evening.

Nesta Guinness-Walker, 4: A real shocker from the full-back. Nothing he tried worked, even giving away a foul throw. One of those nights for the 23-year-old.

Lewis Wing, 5: A quiet evening from the experienced midfielder, who had a bigger impact on the game over the weekend than against the Cod Army.

Charlie Savage, 6: Full of energy and looked to play forward wherever possible. Nearly put Reading in front with a strike from distance, smashing a shot off the post.

Harvey Knibbs, 5: Non-existent for most of the evening. Game seemed to pass him by and never truly put his mark on the match.

Mamadi Camara, 5: Looked to make something happen but was bullied by Fleetwood’s experienced players. Was substituted after just 30 minutes.

Dominic Ballard, 5: Scored on the goal line but missed another golden opportunity moments before. Passed up a few good chances to shoot in the first half.

Sam Smith, 6: Some exciting moments of link-up play with both the midfielders and strike partner. Good to get more minutes in the tank after missing three months with an injury.

Femi Azeez, 6: Made a good impact in the first half when he came onto the pitch, but faded as the match went on. 

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 5: Failed to truly impact the game off the bench, with his best chance to score being deflected over the crossbar.

Michael Craig, 5: Hard to get into the game so late. Lost his man for their late winner.

Matt Carson, 5: Was beaten out on the left immediately before Josh Vela’s winner.
