Reading boss Ruben Selles is looking forward to the upcoming busy festive schedule, with the club facing eight fixtures in the next 30 days.

Winning successive matches against Wycombe Wanderers and Carlisle United, the Royals are no longer at bottom of the League One and are just five points adrift of safety.

Non-league Eastleigh await in the FA Cup on Sunday, before Charlton Athletic visit Berkshire in the EFL Trophy on Wednesday.

The likes of Barnsley, Oxford United and Derby County all await in the league fixtures in coming weeks.

Looking ahead to the busy period, Selles has called on his squad to enjoy it and build on the recent upturn in form.

"We know how the league can change and we know that even in the bad moment we’re in, we’re in a much better position than we were four days ago. We want to play games. We have a good squad and some good potential players who are doing well in the cup and the rotations we make there refresh up the team so it is exciting that they will have playing time and we can continue growing as a team."

Often ringing the changes for cup exploits, the former Southampton boss is expected to do the same on the south coast this weekend.
