Reading winger Paul Mukariu admitted that he is 'loving life at Reading' after winning Bristol Street Motors Trophy Player of the Round for the Group Stage.

Ruben Selles' Royals topped the group with a trio of wins over Exeter City, Swindon Town and Arsenal Under-21s.

Doing so in style, the side scored more in those three fixtures than they have in 18 league fixtures.

Mukariu, on loan from Copenhagen, scored three goals in the three group matches- including a brace against the Grecians in the 9-0 hammering- the club's largest away victory for 122 years.

The 23-year-old told the EFL: "I’m honoured. It’s a great feeling but the work has not stopped – we need to keep going and working hard to get better every day, so we can the team going in this cup. I think this is just the start and if we keep going, hopefully, it will get better from there.

"I’m loving my life here at Reading. It’s always good to be a part of history and I’m happy to be a part of history with Reading who are a massive Club. That game (against Exeter) was my first start for Reading and it was a great feeling for me with the support I got from the fans which was amazing.

"It was very important for me because I had an injury at the time and I’d just come back and that was my first game after that injury, so it was important for me to get the minutes."

Reading host Charlton Athletic this evening in the Round of 32.
