Reading boss Ruben Selles 'hopes' to have defender Jeriel Dorsett back in the squad for this evening's Thames Valley Derby against Oxford United.
The 21-year-old has become a popular choice at left-back in recent weeks but missed Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Barnsley and last week's EFL Trophy victory due to a knee injury.
Clinton Mola and Amadou Mbengue both filled the position against the Tykes, and could do the same against the U's if needed.
Speaking on the weekend, Selles said: "We hope that he will be back for Tuesday. Today was too early for him but we were lucky that the injury wasn’t severe. We should not force him, but hopefully Tuesday."
Besides the Academy graduate, the Royals have a relatively clean bill of health.
Tom McIntyre remains side-lined until Christmas, and Dominic Ballard will not play for the club again after suffering a patella injury which will keep the Southampton teenager out for a year.
