Reading boss Ruben Selles has confirmed that he will be on the touchline for this afternoon's clash with Wigan Athletic, despite his straight red card in last week's draw at Lincoln City.
The Spaniard flicked the ball away in the second half to slow down the Imps' attack and was subsequently given his marching orders by referee Bobby Madley.
Usually only a booking for a player or coach, the rule is different for a manager.
However, the Spaniard has confirmed that the club are in discussions with the EFL and that he will be pitch side against the Latics.
We are in the process, in talks with the EFL, and the club is explaining the situation," the former Southampton boss confirmed. "It was my instinct in that action, nothing disrespectful for anybody. I have apologised and I don’t think it was a red card at all. Tomorrow, I expect to be there, so let’s see if there’s a sanction at the end."
Tom McIntyre remains the only player out, suffering with a virus over the Christmas period.
