Reading came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw at relegation rivals Cheltenham Town.
Here are our player ratings from Whaddon Road.
David Button, 7: Reading's best player, he made some crucial saves to keep his side in the game. Credited with an own goal but little the keeper could have done. Distribution still needs work.
Amadou Mbengue, 5: Defensively struggled and failed to provide his usual attacking outlet. His poor clearance rebounded off Button for a freak own goal in a poor first half.
Tom Holmes, 7: Generally a very good performance from the centre-back, who flew into blocks and won his headers throughout the evening. Perhaps should have got out to close Liam Sercombe quicker for his opener, but his partner had been sucked in to leave space.
Nelson Abbey, 6: Generally very good, but perhaps could have done better for the Robins' first goal.
Jeriel Dorsett, 6: Took his goal well and looked to provide attacking threat where possible. Decent all-round display from the Academy graduate.
Michael Craig, 6: Loses his man, Sercombe, for the opening goal. Got better as the game went on, with the midfield non-existent for the first 40 minutes.
Lewis Wing, 7: His quality was missing in the opening exchanges as Reading bypassed the midfield. However, two assists to his name and once he did get in possession, the hosts could not contain him.
Harvey Knibbs, 6: Very quiet evening from the combative midfielder, who did not see the ball as often as usual and was unable to provide his usual driving runs up the pitch.
Femi Azeez, 6: Had a good game, but was not given the ball often enough.
Sam Smith, 5: For the first 40 minutes the Royals' tactic appeared to be just to find Smith at every opportunity, leaving the forward with little to do. Grew into the game but still failed to have a chance in front of goal.
Paul Mukariu, 6: Took his goal well but had little impact on the rest of the game.
Substitutes
Tyler Bindon, 6: Did what he needed to do when coming on at full-back, an unusual position for the New Zealand international.
Ben Elliott, 6: Quiet cameo from the Cameroon international, failing to impact the game.
Charlie Savage, 6: Added lots of energy and made one important block, but only had 10 minutes to make an impact.
