Reading's relegation rivals Fleetwood Town have made their second managerial change of the season, with Lee Johnson departing after a 2-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers.
The former Bristol City boss took over from Scott Brown in September and won six of 22 matches, but the Cod Army remain second from bottom in League One.
Following a 2-0 defeat to promotion-chasing Bolton, the club said: "Fleetwood Town can confirm Lee Johnson has left the club with immediate effect.
"Assistant Manager Darren Way and First Team Coach Phil Jevons will also depart – everyone at the Club would like to place on record our thanks to Lee, Darren, and Phil for their hard work and professionalism during their time at the club.
"The Club will issue a further update on the first team staff in due course."
The Royals, now on a run of one defeat in eight, are two points clear of Fleetwood and just three points away from safety after Exeter City's 0-0 draw against league-leaders Portsmouth.
