Former Reading favourite Lucas Joao has made his latest career move, joining Umm Salal Sport Club in Qatar.
The 30-year-old moved to Berkshire in 2019 after a five-year stint with Sheffield Wednesday, cementing his place as one of the division's best strikers while a Royal.
Spending four years with Reading, the Angola international racked up 45 goals in just 119 appearances, departing when the club were relegated at the end of last season.
Moving to China to join Shanghai Port, Joao scored three times in 10 appearances and helped the club win the Super League under the management of Wolves legend Kevin Muscat and alongside former Chelsea star Oscar.
Not sticking around long, Joao has now joined Umm Salal, the 2024 Qatar Stars Cup winners.
A well-trodden path following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, former Royal defender and Joao's teammate Naby Sarr moved to Al-Markhiya after his exit from Berkshire.
Not going to plan, Sarr was relegated out of the Stars League at the end of his debut campaign.
