Reading conceded three first-half goals to lose 3-2 against the league's lowest scorers, Shrewsbury Town, for the second time this season.

Take a look at our ratings below.

David Button, 6: Plenty of questions over his handling of the first and second goals, although the opener inside two minutes did take a heavy deflection. Little he could do with the third and was untested for the remainder of the afternoon.

Andy Yiadom, 6: Another solid performance from the captain, with most of the defensive work coming down the left-hand side. Only nit-picking could get closer to closing down the third and possibly got sucked in too high for the first. Denied a big chance for the Shrews to net a third early in the half and looked good in possession.

Tyler Bindon, 5: Slight below the par the teenager has set for himself in recent weeks. Should have done better for the first goal and was a bit slower than usual in possession, often choosing to go long and conceding possession. At 19 and his debut professional season, the New Zealand international will have games below his best.

Amadou Mbengue, 6: Gets sucked in for the first goal and Tom Bayliss bursts through the gap left by the centre-back. Quiet for the remainder of the game, with his partner seeing much more of the ball.

Clinton Mola, 6: As seems to be the way, Reading's left-hand side was targeted throughout the match. With little defensive cover from Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, the full-back was often left exposed. Improved as the game went on.

Lewis Wing, 7: Another match dictated by the classy midfielder. Superb passing range and always looked to progress attacks. Only slight frustration was his tendency to look for the 'Hollywood ball' even if it wasn't necessarily on. Shrewsbury saw him first-half impact and resorted to kicking him out of the game in the second period.

Charlie Savage, 6: Another bundle of energy in the midfield, unlikely to see someone cover more ground in the team. Was always looking to find the killer pass, but it was not his most effective game. The midfield for both teams looked open which made for an exciting spectacle for the neutral.

Harvey Knibbs, 7: After a couple of quieter showings, the top scorer looked back on song with his incredible ability to win possession back high up the pitch and his sixth sense with Sam Smith. Another pair of assists for the fan favourite.

Femi Azeez, 5: A disappointing showing compared to what the winger has served up so far this season. Had few chances on goal, and those he did get he snatched at.

Sam Smith, 6: Took his goal well, ending his 10-game drought, and should have had at least another one. Held the ball up well and linked up with his midfielders, particularly Knibbs, expertly. Goals will come.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 5: A frustrating figure who had plenty of the ball but just seemed a tad off the pace. Good to see him back on the scoresheet, even if Liam Feeney's deflection certainly helped.

Substitutions

Ben Elliott, 6: Had a few bright moments but the youngster is still working his way into League One football.

Paul Mukariu, 6: Struggled to impact the game off the bench aside from a few direct runs at the defence.
