Wycombe Wanderers snatched a late winner after Clinton Mola made a rash challenge on Chem Campbell inside the box, downing Reading 2-1 at the SCL Stadium.

David Button, 6: Could do little with either goal and made one or two decent saves. Had a quieter game than some in recent weeks.

Andy Yiadom, 6: Struggled to get the best out of him in the first-half as the entire team were sub-par. Became more of an attacking threat in the second half.

Tyler Bindon, 6: Couldn't get out to Nigel Lonwijk quick enough to stop the centre-back's impressive overhead kick. Hit the post early in the second-half and looked comfortable defensively as the game wore on.

Amadou Mbengue, 6: Considering the stature of the centre-forward he was having to contend with, especially Sam Vokes for the final 20 minutes, the youngster handled himself well.

Clinton Mola, 6: Grew into the game and actually had an impressive second-half display from an attacking perspective. Rash and needless tackle on Campbell gave away a cheap, but crucial, penalty with two minutes of the 90 remaining.

Lewis Wing, 6: Wycombe marshalled their former favourite well in the first-half, but the introduction of Charlie Savage at half-time freed him up to pick out passes. Got better as the game wore on.

Michael Craig, 5: Just looked incredibly overran and struggled to get into the game during a first-half which the Chairboys dominated. Was replaced for the more attack-minded Savage at the break.

Harvey Knibbs, 5: Very quiet afternoon for the top scorer, who ran around but failed to have any real possession in dangerous areas.

Femi Azeez, 6: Got a good assist for Sam Smith's goal, but one of his quieter matches in general. Almost anonymous in a poor first-half for Reading.

Sam Smith, 6: Scored a well-taken header and could have done better when through against the keeper earlier in the half. In general, feeding off scraps and saw little of the ball.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 5: A poor first-half showing from the youngster, who failed to get hold of the ball and create anything. Had a tame effort easily saved on the half-hour mark.

 

Substitutes

Charlie Savage, 6: Much brighter off the bench and helped get Reading back into the game. Having two clever passers of the ball meant Wing had less pressure and gave the markers questions on who to pick up. Was prepared to take the game to Wycombe and was a key part of their improved performance in the second half.

Ben Elliott, 6: Neat and tidy, Elliott popped up in possession all over the pitch. Had one big opportunity to cross into the box for Smith but dallied on the ball and lost possession. Needs minutes to find some form.
