Charlie Wellings' wonder strike helped Reading claim a shock 1-0 win over Charlton in the Barclays Women's Championship.
Wellings chipped the ball over the keeper from long range to give the eighth-placed hosts a surprise lead late in the first half.
The Royals held on to that advantage and inflicted a rare defeat on fourth-placed Charlton.
Charlton dominated possession in the early stages and Beth Roe rifled a shot just wide early on.
They were awarded a penalty on 26 minutes but Kayleigh Barton's spot-kick struck the post.
Reading capitalised and hit the front just before half-time as Wellings picked up a loose ball and lofted her effort home from fully 30 yards.
The hosts came mightily close to an equaliser from a goalmouth scramble but Roe poked her effort just wide.
Charlton poured players forward, with Barton again hitting the woodwork with a header from close range.
They found Royals stopper Emily Orman in inspired form and she made a fine save from Melissa Johnson's late breakaway.
