Reading will hold the record for the most points in a single season (106) for at least another year, even if they have to share it was Leicester City.
The Foxes, who looked set to run away with the Championship before a recent wobble of two wins in five, came from behind to beat Norwich City 3-1 on Easter Monday and keep chase with Ipswich Town and Leeds United in the automatic promotion spots.
However, more importantly for Reading fans, their 1-0 defeat to Bristol City on Good Friday limited the 2015 Premier League winners to just 106 as their maximum final total.
Need a few good renditions of 'we've got the record' this afternoon. If I've learned anything in the last year or so, it's to celebrate the small victories (no matter how small😅) #readingfc

Leeds United drew 2-2 with Watford later in the evening, ending their hopes of breaching the tally set by Steve Coppell's side back in 2005/06, meaning nobody can surpass Reading's tally for another year.
Leicester City, sat on 85 points with six games remaining, can hit 106 while Ipswich and Leeds can hit 105 and 104 respectively.
For the record to remain purely a Royal one, Enzo Maresca's men need to drop points in at least one of their remaining matches, something which looks plausible seeing as five fixtures are against teams scrapping for points in a play-off battle or relegation battle (Birmingham City, Millwall, Plymouth Argyle, Southampton and West Brom).
Coppell's side in 2006 lost just two matches all season and went on a run of 33 matches unbeaten from August until February, winning promotion at Leicester in March.
