The Woodley Football Carnival is to be revived for the first time in seven years.
A fixture of the calendar for many years, tying in with the much-loved Woodley Carnival, it was last played in 2017 after struggling to find people willing to organise proceedings.
uSport, a coaching company based in Woodley, are to restart the event this year and sponsor it, with 24 boys teams and 24 girls teams competing from schools across the town.
Taking place on Friday, June 7 at Woodford Park Leisure Centre, the Mayor of Woodley will also be in attendance.
"Sport has played a massive part in my life and career," said uSport founder, Charlie Hiscox. "Growing up, I remember the buzz and excitement of the Woodley Carnival Football Tournament and attending is one of my standout childhood sporting memories.
"This is why I am incredibly proud to announce that uSports is not only going to be a headline sponsor at this year's carnival but we will also be bringing back the Woodley Carnival Schools Football Tournament with the support of the Carnival Committee!"
