Reading captain Andy Yiadom misses out on a return to former club Barnsley through injury, with youngster Kelvin Abrefa stepping up in his place.
Yiadom made over 60 appearances in two years with the Tykes but suffered injury against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday and misses out on a return to Oakwell.
Paul Mukairu, in the place of Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, is the only other change to the starting side from Tuesday's 2-0 win at the Memorial Stadium.
Joel Pereira will be looking to make it two clean sheets in successive matches, behind a back four of Abrefa; Tyler Bindon; Amadou Mbengue and Clinton Mola.
Lewis Wing wears the armband in Yiadom's place, alongside Harvey Knibbs and Ben Elliott.
Femi Azeez and Sam Smith join Mukariu in a front three, with Ehibhatiomhan and Charlie Savage providing attacking options off the bench.
Young full-back John Ryan is on the bench for the first time.
