Former Reading star Michael Olise has been named in France's preliminary squad for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris this summer.

22-year-old Olise broke through the youth system in Berkshire and made over 70 appearances before his £8m move to Crystal Palace.

Winning the EFL Young Player of the Season with the Royals, his career continues to progress and the attacking midfielder is one of the brightest starlets in the Premier League.

Many had tipped him to be named in France's squad for the 2024 European Championships, with questions about his availability even posed to England boss Gareth Southgate.

A regular for France's Under-21s, Olise is yet to appear for the full team despite his impressive displays.

Missing out on the European Championships, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has picked him for the Olympic Games squad as the host nation.

Rumours have been rife for the youngster to earn a move in the summer, with Manchester United and Chelsea hotly tipped to prize him away from Selhurst Park.

Olise is joined by Eagles teammate Jean-Philippe Mateta and former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette in the front line for the squad.
