Former Reading defenders Terell Thomas and Zak Jules have made EFL moves to Carlisle United and Rotherham United after leaving Charlton Athletic and Exeter City respectively.
Thomas played twice for the Royals in 2021/22 before returning to Charlton. After making over 60 appearances, and finishing third in the Player of the Season award last year, Nathan Jones opted not to extend his deal.
Relegated to League Two after finishing bottom of League One last year, Thomas will look to help the Cumbrians to an immediate return to the third tier.
Meanwhile, Jules rose through the ranks in Berkshire but failed to make a first-team appearance and enjoyed seven loan spells.
It was with Walsall and MK Dons where the defender made his name, moving to Exeter in 2023.
An ever-present in his only season in Devon, the former Scotland youth international scored on his return to RG2 in New Year's Day's 3-2 Royal win.
Moving to Rotherham United, the defender will be among the favourites to win the title under Steve Evans.
Reading are one of three League One clubs yet to make a signing and are unable to progress until the off-field ownership drama is solved.
