Former Reading defender Clinton Mola has joined League One rivals Bristol Rovers.
The 23-year-old former England youth defender joined the Royals last summer after departing Stuttgart, making 35 appearances in all competitions.
Coming in for some criticism early on in his time with the club, the defender was a regular by the end of the season and was lauded as one of the most improved players at the club as Ruben Selles’ squad overturned a 10-point deficit to stay in League One.
Not offered a deal to remain, the former Chelsea youngster has opted to take the short drive down the M4 to the Memorial Stadium.
The Pirates finished 15th in the third tier last season, losing seven of their last 11 matches under Matt Taylor.
“Joining Bristol Rovers is an exciting opportunity for me,” Mola told the club. “When I heard the Club was in for me, I was very interested. The Club has made me feel very wanted and that was a big part in my decision to join Rovers. I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to getting going."
