Luton Town have added to their ever-growing group of former Reading stars by signing Shandon Baptiste.

The 26-year-old moved to the town aged seven and was a part of the Royals Academy until being released at 15.

He had previously attended Denefield School and Sir John Madejski Academy, returning to Denefield in 2022 to open their 3G football pitch.

Making his name with Oxford United, Baptiste has been a Premier League player with Brentford for the last three seasons, clocking up nearly 80 appearances for the Bees.

Released by Thomas Frank last month, the midfielder has moved to recently-relegated Luton Town with an eye on returning to the top-flight.

He will not be the only former Royal at Kenilworth Road, with defender Tom Holmes and midfielder Taylan Harris making the switch in January.

Former Reading centre-back, Gabe Osho, has already become a fan favourite with the Hatters and is approaching a century of appearances in Bedfordshire.

All were raised in Reading and spent time as a Royal, with Holmes, Harris and Osho all going on to make appearances in the first team.
