Reading youngster Gabe Osho has made a move to France and Ligue 1 after opting not to renew his contract with Luton Town.

The 25-year-old rose through the Royals ranks and managed 10 first-team appearances before opting to move on from his boyhood club in 2020.

Switching to Kenilworth Road, the centre-back was a key member of their Premier League promotion campaign and wrote himself into folklore for scoring a late winner against rivals Watford.

Racking up 85 appearances for the Hatters, Osho has now joined the recently promoted Auxerre in the top flight of French football.

Luton Town still have a strong Reading contingent however, with Tom Holmes and Taylan Harris joining in January.

Signing a one-year deal, Osho has the option of a second to remain in central France.

Manager Rob Edwards said: “I’d like to thank Gabe for what he did for this football club and wish him nothing but success. Like many of the players who have led this club to success in recent years, he will always be welcomed back.”
