Reading Women are to hold open trials as they attempt to 'rebuild to their former state.'
The community was left shell-shocked last month as news broke that due to a lack of funding, the Royals' women's side was to drop into tier five- amateur football- while the youth system still faces an uncertain future.
This comes less than five years after back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the Women's Super League and a FA Cup semi-final appearance.
All players on semi-pro deals walked away and the playing side has been decimated, hence the need for a new-look squad.
"Following a period of significant change this summer, and with the support of the Reading FC Community Trust, we are now focused on rebuilding to our former strength," the club commented.
"We invite dedicated and passionate players eager to join our team and contribute to a fresh start in the upcoming season. Our training base is at Slough Town FC, where you'll train twice a week and represent the Royals on matchdays. You will also have access to a gym, and thanks to our Community Trust, players will not be required to pay subs for the season."
All players wishing to take part must complete their form before midday on Monday, July 29.
