Former Reading winger Brandon Barker is looking to move to Belgium after being released by Morecambe in May, currently trialling with R.W.D. Molenbeek.

27-year-old Barker rose through the youth system with Manchester City and made one first-team appearance in 2015/16 but injuries have limited the wide man to bit-part cameos across Europe in the last nine years.

On the books of clubs like Rangers, Preston North End and Rotherham United, Barker has also had a spell in Cyprus and the Netherlands.

In 2022, he made four cameo appearances for the Royals under Paul Ince but was not kept on the following season.

Joining Morecambe in January, he managed just two appearances and was released by the Shrimpers at the end of the season.

Looking to rebuild his career at a good age, journalist Mikey Delbeke has reported that he is on trial with R.W.D. Molenbeek in the Belgian second tier.

He had played under boss Yannick Ferrera while with Omonia Nicosia, his club immediately after Reading.

R.W.D. Molenbeek were relegated out of the top flight last season and are owned by part-owner of Crystal Palace, John Textor.
