Reading are poised for a reunion with former favourites Andy Rinomhota and Yakou Meite as Cardiff City host the Royals tomorrow evening in the next pre-season friendly.
Ruben Selles' side head down the M4 looking to claim another Championship scalp during pre-season, having already beaten Watford and Queens Park Rangers during a successful warm-up to the new League One season.
Regular foes in recent years, the Royals lost 1-0 on their last visit to South Wales in what was a key defeat leading to relegation out of the second tier.
For this summer's meeting, there could be two familiar faces lining up for Erol Bulut's Bluebirds in the former of Rinomhota and Meite.
28-year-old Meite made over 150 appearances for the club between 2016 and 2023, enjoying three successive campaigns with double-figure tallies before injuries hampered his impact toward the end of his spell.
A real fan favourite with his own unique chant, the former PSG forward departed after relegation and made nearly 40 appearances for Cardiff in his debut campaign.
Meanwhile, Academy graduate Rinomhota racked up nearly 150 appearances and won Player of the Season in 2019.
Moving to Cardiff in 2022, the Zimbabwe international has failed to nail down a starting spot at the Cardiff City Stadium and spent part of last season on loan with Rotherham United as they were relegated.
Kicking off at 7.30pm tomorrow, tickets remain available for supporters deciding to make the trip down to the Welsh capital.
