Reading defender Tyler Bindon is set to return from the 2024 Olympic Games as New Zealand exit at the group stage.
19-year-old Bindon enjoyed a breakout campaign with the Royals last season, finishing in the top three of the Player of the Season poll with nearly 50 appearances.
On the international stage, Bindon has become a regular for his country and won the OFC Nations Cup without conceding a goal over the summer.
Following in his mother Jenny's footsteps, having appeared at the 2012 Olympic Games, Bindon started and completed all three group matches.
Beating Guinea 2-1 in the opening match, USA and France breezed past New Zealand 3-0 and 4-1 respectively to knock Bindon and his teammates out.
Disappointed to be going home but proud to have got our second ever win at the Olympics this campaign. #Paris2024 has been great, roll on 2028. pic.twitter.com/VRrrWUwdVv

With little rest over the summer, it remains to be seen how early the central defender returns to the fold in Berkshire.
He formed a strong partnership with fellow youngster Amadou Mbengue in the final few months of the season as Ruben Selles' side showcased play-off chasing form.
Royals star Michael Olise made a 25-minute cameo for the French in the second half, with the Bayern Munich midfielder one of the star performers at the prestigious event.
