Reading have given supporters the opportunity to sponsor their favourite players for the new season- with perks including a lunch date with their favourite player.

A new opportunity introduced by the club, with Supporters Trust at Reading doing something similar last year to help combat the club's shortfall, it is commonplace across the EFL.

In fact, the club used to do something similar in years gone by and London Irish, who had previously used to play at the SCL Stadium, had a sponsorship package on offer.

Priced at £2,000 (plus VAT), supporters can sponsor their favourite players for the season and in return can expect a series of perks throughout the campaign.

  • An invitation for lunch with your player
  • Receive your player’s signed match worn shirt at the end of the season
  • Professional photograph taken with your selected player
  • Your personal message of support hand delivered to your player
  • Your name on the player’s profile page on the website
  • Your name on big screen pre-match and when your sponsored player scores
  • Your name on matchday social media graphics when your player scores
  • Eight match tickets to be used across the season (home league games only)
