Reading are tipped for a big rise and a play-off finish in League One this season, according to Best Plinko Casino’s SuperComputer.

The Royals finished 17th last season under Ruben Selles amid a backdrop of off-field upheaval.

Despite Dai Yongge still owning the club, optimism has returned to Berkshire with news of a potential buyout from American businessman Rob Couhig and a strong pre-season in which three Championship teams were beaten in warm-up friendly fixtures.

Bolton Wanderers are set to dominate League One this season to beat Birmingham City to the title and return to the Championship.

Ian Evatt’s side are predicted to win the division by seven points ahead of Birmingham who are expected to be the highest scorers as they finish second.

Wrexham meanwhile are tipped to secure a spot in the playoffs and promotion to keep their Hollywood-worthy script on track by moving up to the Championship.

At the other end of the table, Cambridge United, Shrewsbury, Charlton Athletic and Burton Albion are all forecast to tumble into League Two while Crawley Town secure survival by finishing two points ahead of the relegation zone.

This is despite Nathan Jones' Addicks turning around poor form last season to move toward mid-table and Crawley selling over half of their promotion-winning team.

The final table is the result of a prediction model simulating each game of the season and predicting the exact score it thinks every game will be.

A level of randomness is also added into the predictions to ensure that upsets happen rather than the best teams in the league winning every game.

The machine then simulates the remaining games in a season 1,000 times and constructs an average league table from the 1,000 simulations, to rule out anomalous results.
