Reported summer Reading target Reece Welch is set for a move to Belgium, according to Football Insider.

The 20-year-old has spent over a decade rising through the ranks at Goodison Park but is finding game time hard to come by with the Premier League giants.

An England Under-20 international, the youngster spent the first half of last season on loan with Forest Green Rovers and managed 23 appearances during his short spell in Gloucestershire.

According to reports, the Royals had hoped to pick up Welch on loan for the season but Ruben Selles opted to replace Femi Azeez with Chem Campbell on a short-term loan.

Peter O'Rourke is now reporting that the defender is having a medical with KMSK Deinze in the second tier of Belgian football.

Reading will only be able to sign free agents in the coming months should Rob Couhig's protracted takeover be completed.
