Reading goalkeeper Coniah Boyce-Clarke has returned from international duty with Jamaica due to an injury to a 'first-team goalkeeper,' according to the Jamaican Football Association.

21-year-old Boyce-Clarke rose through the ranks in Berkshire and remains a highly regarded young goalkeeper but is behind Joel Pereira in the current pecking order.

With two cup appearances under his belt so far this campaign, the youngster was called up for Jamaica's internationals under former England manager Steve McClaren.

On the bench for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Cuba, the association has since confirmed that the goalkeeper will return to Berkshire early.

"Boyce-Clarke has been recalled by Reading FC as one of the first team goalkeepers has picked up an injury at the club," a statement read.

Teenage defender Tyler Bindon had been due to feature for New Zealand but did not travel due to a head injury sustained in last week's 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic.

Charlie Savage is with Wales Under-21s while Basil Tuma featured for Malta Under-21s last week.
