Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens was full of praise for Reading boss Ruben Selles and his staff for the way they have handled the crisis at the club.
Under the ownership of Dai Yongge, the club fell from the brink of the Premier League to a relegation battle in League One, combating points deductions, winding-up petitions and wholesale redundancies.
10 points adrift at the bottom of League One at one stage last season, the Royals overturned the deficit to comfortably survive with matches to spare.
Wellens, who took Orient up from League Two into League One, took his O's team to Berkshire on Saturday and won 1-0.
Ahead of the match, he had nothing but praise for all in blue and white.
"I thought they were one of the best teams last year- a well-coached team," he told the club channel. You have to take your hat off to the coaching team, playing and coaching staff and Mark Bowen because that club has had a really hard time for the last two years.
"We played them last year and beat them in the last minute and the fans were giving the players and coaching staff a bit of abuse but ever since then they’ve handled themselves well.
"They’re a club that want to be back in the Premier League but realise that with the takeover still not happening yet and the struggles that they’ve got with signings, the manager and coaching staff have kept the boat steady and steering them in the right direction. Everybody deserves a huge pat on the back because one day it will be taken over and be a huge club again."
Wellens' son, Charlie, plays for Reading and is a regular in the Under-21s side- making his first-team debut last season.
