Former Reading striker Andy Carroll has dropped into the fourth tier of French football with Bordeaux.
The 35-year-old former record transfer scored 11 goals in 42 appearances for the Royals over two spells, moving to the French second tier with Amiens in 2023 after Reading were relegated to League One.
The former England international scored four times for Amiens last year but is set to drop into the fourth tier with giants Bordeaux.
Six-time winners of Ligue 1, Bordeaux were relegated to the fourth tier administratively over the summer due to bankruptcy.
Winning the title as recently as 2009, Les Girondins finished mid-table in the second tier last year in a ground holding more than 40,000 spectators.
Merci Andy.

Carroll has racked over nearly 450 career appearances and played at the top-flight for West Ham United and Newcastle United.
His time in Berkshire ended somewhat sourly with supporters but the North-East native proved popular with staff in Berkshire.
