Crawley Town have lost manager Scott Lindsay to MK Dons after Mike Williamson opted to move to Carlisle United.
Lindsay earned plenty of plaudits for keeping the Red Devils in League Two during 2023/24 before taking the team up into the third tier last season via the play-offs.
However, key players departed in the summer transfer window- including former Reading midfielder Liam Kelly to MK Dons.
After six matches, Crawley are currently sat 18th and have won two of their first six matches.
On joining MK Dons as Head Coach, Scott Lindsey said: "I'm so excited to be joining this wonderful football club. I think it's clear to everyone just how much potential there is at MK Dons, and I'm thrilled to be joining Stadium MK to help achieve it. I'm really looking forward to working with Liam and Fahad to build an ambitious and exciting football team for the people of Milton Keynes to get behind. I can't wait to get stuck in with the players, and look forward to meeting the supporters as soon as possible."
Crawley Chairman Preston Johnson said: “Scott was such a big part of the success we had in the last year or so. We wanted Scott to stay with us, but ultimately he made the decision to leave, which we respect. We now look forward to the next phase of our journey. Scott has given both me and the fans of this club some unbelievable memories which we thank him for. I wish him and his family all the best.
Football is relentless, and so are we. We are committed to investing in the infrastructure and personnel to reach even greater heights.”
Reading host Crawley for the first league meeting on October 19 at the SCL Stadium.
