Reading boss Ruben Selles praised supporters for their 'respectful' protest against owner Dai Yongge- believing it is the way to continue in the future.

On 18 minutes during the Royals' 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town, supporters held up red cards with 'Dai Family Sell Up' emblazoned across the front.

This comes after Rob Couhig's attempted takeover collapsed, leaving the club under the ownership of Yongge.

18 points have been deducted for off-field mismanagement in the past four years.

Having called for supporters to protest without impacting on-field performance, Selles commented: "The main thing is fans, the team, the players and the staff can be focused on football. I know everything around- I get all those things obviously.

"As much as I can focus on my team and the players can focus on the game and the fans can focus on the team, we are better. We are more prepared for the game and more focussed on what we do and get those inches we are talking about.

"The fans were very respectful and did it in their way and were supportive to us. I think it is the way to continue going."

There are no plans for protests for Tuesday's meeting with Burton Albion at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
