Reading boss Ruben Selles was left 'positive' after a 'dominant' 3-1 victory over Burton Albion on Tuesday.

A Chem Campbell brace and Sam Smith header sealed the points, while Danilo Orsi netted a late consolation for the struggling Brewers.

Recording a second home win in four days, the Royals looked impressive during a strong first-half showing- netting twice- but were not at their confident best in a tough second half played during wintery conditions.

Assessing the victory, Selles said: "The performance today was good. I think we started really well in the first half, dominated and scored the goals. The second half was a little bit less brilliant, but we managed to score a third with a set play.

"It was a little bit unlucky that in the action for the goal, Andre got cramp straight after a push, so we lost a defender in our box. The performance was good, the boys were working really hard and the energy, tempo and quality in some of the actions was really good.

"I’m very pleased that with the first two goals we scored we didn’t have the ball in possession, but the counter-press was brilliant, winning the ball back and scored. We want to be robust in what we do and put in more consistent performances throughout the season."

Reading travel to Rotherham United on Saturday looking for a first away victory of the campaign.
