Two former Reading favourites did battle on the grandest of stages in club football on Wednesday night as Aston Villa beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Back in the continent's premier football competition since the 1980s, Jhon Duran's second-half strike was enough for Unai Emery's Villa to earn a famous victory over the German giants.
However, for Reading supporters enjoying the spectacle, it marked a battle between two former Reading teammates at Villa Park.
World Cup-winning goalkeeper and Ballon D'or nominee, Emiliano Martinez, was between the sticks for the hosts while France international Michael Olise started in an attacking midfield role behind England captain Harry Kane.
Not the first time Michael Olise and Emi Martinez have shared a pitch from the start.

The first was a very windy 0-0 draw away at Stoke in 2019 and now they come up against each other in the Champions League ⭐️ #readingfc pic.twitter.com/ayxk7cdlYA
This match-up comes just five years after the pair were lining up together for Reading in a 0-0 draw at Stoke City.
In total, they shared the pitch on four occasions for Reading in the 2018/19 campaign but did not win (two draws, two defeats).
Martinez, on loan from Arsenal, went on to become a fan favourite in just five months with the club as Jose Gomes' team survived in the Championship.
Meanwhile, Olise was making his first league start for the club and would become a star performer over the following 18 months culminating in winning the EFL Young Player of the Season award for 2020/21.
Moving onto Crystal Palace in 2021, the 22-year-old impressed in nearly a century of appearances for the Eagles before moving to Bavaria for over £50m over the summer.
