Reading boss Ruben Selles hopes to have Mamadi Camara; Jeriel Dorsett and Joel Pereira 'back soon' but defender Kelvin Abrefa is set for more time on the sidelines after suffering injury at Rotherham.
Substituted in the New York Stadium within half an hour of the 2-1 defeat, the young full-back will wear a protective boot until a scan can be made.
He joins a long list of injured Royals as Selles continues to battle on with a small squad.
"The area at the ankle and tendon is swelling so they don’t know exactly what it is," Selles said in South Yorkshire. "He is going to take the boot, and we will need to scan. It looks like it will keep him out for a couple of weeks."
With a trip to Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday followed by an international break and time off, Selles issued an update on all remaining injured first-team regulars.
"Mamadi [Camara], Jeriel [Dorsett] and Joel [Pereira] are doing well. Hopefully, if it’s not straight after the international break then it will be a maximum of one week. We expect to have them back soon."
