Reading boss Ruben Selles has been discussed by the Board of Directors at Cardiff City as a potential replacement for Erol Bulut, according to reports.
The Bluebirds sacked the Turkish boss last month with the Welsh outfit rock-bottom of the Championship with just one win from their opening eight matches.
Under the caretaker charge of Omar Ritza, Cardiff drew 1-1 with Bristol City on Sunday but remain three points from safety.
Selles, who has taken plenty of plaudits for the work done in Berkshire, has reportedly been discussed as a possible replacement.
According to WalesOnline, Selles has already formed discussions among the board at Cardiff and will be a 'chunky segment of the hierarchy's discussions' in a meeting within the next 24 hours.'
Guiding the Royals through a difficult 18 months, keeping the club in League One despite suffering multiple points deductions, the Spaniard had admitted in recent weeks that he is not happy after Rob Couhig's protracted takeover attempt collapsed last month.
The club have confirmed that exclusivity has been agreed with an unnamed party, but Selles' patience is wearing thin.
Selles takes his Royals team to Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy this evening before an international break kicks in.
