Reading supporters have been both understanding and concerned about the future of manager Ruben Selles as news emerged of interest from Championship Cardiff City.
The Spaniard has been incredibly popular since arriving last summer, moulding a young team into an exciting crop capable of pushing for the top half of League One.
However, Selles has spoken in recent weeks of his frustration at the lack of progress with a sale, believing he will reach a point where he cannot put up with the situation any longer.

This will concern supporters as it has been revealed that Selles is spoken about regularly among the hierarchy in the Welsh capital, with Erol Bulut sacked with the Bluebirds bottom of the second tier.
While some fear for the Royals if he was to depart, many supporters want to see the young coach thrive in a more stable environment, away from the draining role in Berkshire.
Take a look at some fan reaction from social media below.
Wouldn't blame him.

Tbh let him go, with the young squad we have and the possibility of getting no replacement very high.

Let Hunt take over until all this sorry mess is over with
I think RS is great but I do wonder if our predicament has helped to paper over some of the cracks. I hope he stays so that we get to see how he does under stable conditions. He’ll have to hit the ground running at Cardiff or else he might struggle.

Devils advocate. I think it would be a risk for Cardiff. In our situation he has been bright but if we remove our rose tinted glasses is he really Championship ready? Surely there are more proven options in L1. Guess he's an easy snatch due to the club's instability

Cardiff isn't exactly a stable environment. I think what attracts Selles is the Academy... I am not sure what Cardiff's is like, I understand they have built a new environment... but he wouldn't ensure all he has to jump ship now. I'll ask him Thursday night 😉

Predictable in many ways - step up to Champ so couldn't blame him really with our circus.

He’s not irreplaceable.
